My first big news is that Land of Mountains is a Finalist for EPIC's 2012 Award for Best YA, AND is now available on Kindle and Smashwords for .99!
My second newsflash is that I am flying solo as a writer. By mutual consent, my publisher and I are forging ahead in our own directions. I am grateful to Lee Emory of Treble Heart books for our past professional relationship, and wish her and her company all the best success.
This was not an easy decision to make, especially when so many emerging writers are begging for someone to publish their books, but I decided that it was time to take control of my writing destiny. The past month has been a very busy time for me and my computer slave, aka, my husband, Mad Dog--don't ask.
Between the two of us we have managed to Kindle-ize and e-pub most of my books and by the end of the month, all seven will be available for .99. It is personally satisfying to name my prices, especially when the economy stinks and people still want to read.
Let me know what you think of my decision, even if your think I'm totally nuts!

Huge congrats on taking the plunge, Jinx! I wish you every success. :)
Jinx! Best of everything on e-publishing. I only wish I could get your books on my Nook. :(
It's a brave, gutsy move and I wish you much success! I have a foot in both camps right now and remain on the fence about the future for myself. It sounds like you're off to a great start.
I, too, have my feet in both camps, but it is exciting to be able to write and publish in the same year, not so with traditional publishers.
Congrats on making the decision. I will be iterested to see how you fare! Good luck.
